Thing is, a lot of live albums contain either completely new tracks, or old tracks realised in new ways. I don't see why you can't judge a live album in the same way you can judge a studio album. Davis' Dark Magus being an example of an live album which contains unreleased stuff that deserves to be critiqued and reviewed as if it were a 'regular' album. But if TH is so sure...
