Game: Fallout 4
Developer: Bethesda
Known For: Elder Scrolls, Fallout series, and technically Dishonored even though Bethesda published it and didn't develop it.
Release Date: November 10, 2015

Current Status: Satisfied (with some complaints)

Yeah, I'm including Fallout 4 in this little section i'm working on, but it's not my fault that the game was released in 2015. Anyway, I know i've been talking about Fallout 4 a lot recently, and I know you're probably tired of seeing yet another person getting sucked into and hopelessly addicted to a game again, but Fallout 4 has definitely been one of the most satisfying game releases of this year, and I will say it again, this year has been a pretty fantastic year for video games. Now, you may have noticed that my status of this game is satisfied, but you'll also notice that I said there are a few complains that I (among others) have run into. To make it really simple, I've been running into a lot of FPS issues, on top of 2-5 minute long loading screens. Y'know, all that kind of stuff. Fortunately I haven't been the only person dealing with these issues, and before you say it, yes, my computer is perfectly capable of running this game on Ultra settings. I have decided to tone it down a little bit and it seems to have helped the FPS a bit, but luckily I am participating in the patch beta, and my game seems to be running better than it did prior to installing the patch beta.

Now, what is it about this game that has led me to a satisfied status. Well, for one thing...it's Fallout. If you walk down the street or into a GameStop and you just mention Fallout, the reaction is always the same. "Maaaaan, those games are ****ing awesome". And that's completely justified. The games are made to put you into control of your own character and it does so by giving you access to everything. There's so much to do, so much to collect, the perk system is fantastic, but there is one very specific thing I want to mention that makes this game easily one of the coolest games in the series: power armor. Yes, power armor. It's much different in this game in terms of what you can do with your power armor, but let me just put it simply. Currently, I have about 7 suits of different power armor that I have found while wondering in the Commonwealth Wasteland. Yes, I am going to consider them collectibles, because honestly, they look really ****ing cool. I'll show you a screenshot of what my current collection looks like:

This actually isn't the most up to date screenshot, my mistake. I found one more full set of T-45 power armor earlier today and it's not shown in this picture. But basically you can see what I mean by collectible. They just look so ****ing cool and with the additional things you can add on to them like paint jobs and mods and such, they just really outdid themselves when it came to making sure that power armor was done well.

That's pretty much all I wanted to say for this because there are two other posts in this journal that explain why I love Fallout 4 and the series in general, so I just wanted to use this to showcase one of the coolest parts of the game.
