@TLP - I'm assuming that you're versed in Fates Warning, but have you ever checked out their last album,
Darkness in a Different Light? If not, then I'll change my rec to that.

This was more of a case of not even knowing whether or not they existed, since my dad kind bailed when I was two and for whatever reason his whole family stayed away along with him. Only just found out I actually have a brother and any aunts and uncles on his side.
It's kind of hard to be bummed about not knowing someone when they're only a theoretical abstract. But on the plus side, "dad"'s whole family seems to have written him off, so we have that in common if nothing else.
