I'm not trying to be clever. I just strongly feel that the Jamaican roots of the music should never be forgotten. Ska did NOT start in late 1970s Britain (though all those bands were good and it was them that got me into ska). A lot of the modern so-called ska bands are more punk than ska. Nothing wrong with that, but it could lead people to think that ska is just punk with a horn section. Okay so I'm a traditionalist.
