I think I might do a journal entry on deathcore, but I just wanted wanted to do a quick shoutout to some **** I've been digging more than I thought I ever would all these years later.

I'm finding that some of the bog standard 'core bands are actually quite tolerable in EP form. Chelsea Grin are none-more-core, but their debut, self-titled EP is actually kind of fun, along with Bring Me the Horizon's This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For. On their longer debuts they still manage to be entertaining in short bursts, but get boring and way too repetitive after a while (though I'm starting appreciate BMtH's ability incorporate actual melody in their otherwise tripe).

So if you can't stand listening to a full album, you might want to consider ditching the idea of listening to deathcore LPs and just stick with EPs. They work better than you might expect. I basically think that deathcore might be like punk and hardcore, where they often work better with singles, splits, and EPs, whereas they often don't work in the context of a full album.
