Default Music that is allowed to be played in public vs not.

By public, it could mean a variety of contexts. Shops, work, schools, down the street, etc.
In my case at work, the policy is quite lame. The only music allowed is radio friendly stuff like classic rock, censored pop, or country.
At school, basically pop was played all the time because that's what everyone liked. For those of you who had music playing in the hall anyways.
Retail stores are more or less the same with the pop.

The only time I get to listen to the music I want to listen to is in private or at concerts. Sigh*, where I can live where the music isn't so basic.
