This Heat - Deceit
I tried really hard to take in this album but, it just didn't hit me like it might
have for you just so you know before reading this.
1. Sleep
Really odd track. I'm honestly not sure what to think of it.
If I'm being honest I really don't like it. It's a little all
over the place. Then it just kind of ended. I decided to give it
two listens. Still kind of feel the same about it.

2. Paper Hats
I might be the wrong person to review this album. It's really
experimental. Though, my biggest problem is the singer. He's
not really doing anything. Kind of monotone. Now he's screaming
and I wonder why. Everything isn't matched up right. If this is
one of your favorite albums I truely apologize.

3. Triumph
Hahaha ok I love the kazoo that made me laugh a little but,
honestly I have no idea what this band is about. This sounds
like something from Stomp. You remember that? With the band
that would use everyday things as instruments? People not all
singing together. That really bothers me.

4. S.P.Q.R
Suddenly it sounds like a proper song possibly. Am I just not
cool enough to understand this band? Maybe my ways are just too
defined. The things I like and dislike. I like this song the
best so far. It has good rhythm. I don't know why it has to all
fall apart at the end though.

5. Cenotaph
Strange. I really don't know what to say about this song. It
sounds like the same vocal tone layered like three times? Sadly
it's not something I'm enjoying. Honestly the only thing I like
is the music behind the vocals.

6. Shrinkwrap
Another odd one. Does this band do a lot of drugs? Maybe I'm
not on the level some people are that understand and love this
album that could be possible. I almost wonder if it would be so
bothersome to me if it had one element taken out. This one this
one just feels likes someone is yelling shrink wrap at me.

7. Radio Prague
Is this a performance band? I'm trying to figure out the appeal
but, for me it's just, not working. The deeper I get into this
album the less I'm enjoying it. This one is just like a one
key beat and someone quickly changing channels on a tv or
something of the sort.

8. Makeshift Swahili
A lot more interesting than most of the other tracks. This
whole album has this creepy vibe about it though. Like it's
supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. It's making me feel
that way anyway.

9. Independence
I like how simple this one starts out but, we will see what
happens here. This one is a lot more enjoyable for me. The
simple guitar and drums. The ethnic little background sounds.
I'm not sure what they are. And now it's

10. A New Kind of Water
Dark. Creepy. Glad I don't have all the lights off or I'd be
looking behind my shoulder. It sounds like some kind of
sacrificial ritual.
Oddly this is my favorite on the whole album. It's rather good.
Maybe it's because, it's not so out there. I really wish I
would have enjoyed this album more. Maybe, it's just beyond me.

11. Hi Baku Shyo
At this point I'm like, alright then. It's something new at
least. I give this band props for pushing the envelop.

So, over all let me tell you why I didn't exactly enjoy this.
I'm not one to like many male vocals in the first place and
when someone doesn't really vocalize it bothers me. I'm also
not a fan of really artistic takes on music sadly. I wish my
musical pallette was more versetile but, it's not. I'm sure
there are people out there that really adore this album well,
I don't happen to be one of them. We all have opinions right?
Anyway, thanks for the rec if anything it was a very interesting
listen. Maybe I'll revisit it when I go through more musical
trips.
The album as a whole for me is 2.5 stars I wanted to give it a
solid 3 but, I would be lying to myself.
