I played Germany last year. In my experience, the Axis have to strike hard in the first two turns (winning by the end of turn two is impossible for either side). If Japan threatens eastern Russia, then Moscow has to split its resources between Nazi aggression in the west and making sure Japan doesn't take Siberia. It is essential for Germany to control all of Africa by the end of turn two. Then work on taking the Mediterranean in turn three. After that, you've gotta dump all your IPCs into submarines so you can scuttle the Allies' navy mustering around England before D-Day happens.
