Ghost B.C. have a lot of potential: like you said though, I think they're closer to
Blue Oyster Cult than most of the bands they tend to get lumped in with. They're certainly nothing like the bands that have influenced their overall visual approach (Black Sabbath, Black Widow, Mercyful Fate, Crimson Glory).
I think the biggest subjective complaint I've seen lodged against them is that Papa Emeritus isn't charismatic or has enough vocal range to carry the material to more menacing heights.
Meliora is a lot of fun though: it continues to grow on me.
