Artist: Black Angels
Album: Passover (2006)
Category: Doom/Stoner/Sludge
The thing with stoner rock, along with a few other genres I like, is no matter how formulaic it is, it always manages to impress me. This album was certainly no exception. It wasn't necessarily stoner metal (as the majority of these bands are interchangeable) but that didn't stop me from appreciating it. Like Batlord said, it's more like if stoner rock was invented in the 60's, and this definitely shows through the Jim Morrison-esque hazy atmosphere, the bluesy guitars, and their Velvet Underground worship (their very name is a reference to "The Black Angel's Death Song").
I'd like to complain about the lack of variety, or the length. But I just can't being myself to do it. It's just a solid record altogether. I can't really find any major flaws in this, but it still isn't my favorite album.
Thus, I give it a 9/10.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.
