It's weird I know--I also like that I can drink beer straight, I ultimately end up drinking less, it takes me longer to drink and generally less likely to die. If I start drinking vodka at 10 am I'm gonna be out by 1, but with beer I can probably make much of the day.
Really beer acts as a depressant, and makes you tired. Where do you have the beer? If it is at a bar, maybe your anxious being there or around strangers?

Are you drinking other things during the day like caffeine that might make you feel that way? Or it could be you're crashing - energywise.
