Name: Black Francis
Position: Revolutionary
Age: 31
Status: Deceased
First Appearance: A New Life
Last Appearance: The Red Dinnerparty

Coming from the “wrong side of the tracks”, ie MB's natural enemy, mundane Banter (identified by the lowercase “m” in its abbreviation), Black Francis arrived from the small town of PortiRoci in the second episode of season one, and with his family set up the now iconic Pixies Bar and Grill, where he worked tirelessly for three years. He met and fell in love with ChelseaDagger, a member of the Council of Ten, and they had a child, Little Frank Dagger. Viewers of the show watched their romance blossom and grow throughout two seasons until the shocking reveal at the end of season three, when it was shown that Pixies Bar and Grill (ever after known simply as Pixies) was nthing more than an elaborate front for the CEMB, the Communist Enemies of Music Banter, who had, unbeknownst to them, recruited all of Francis's family into their organisation and sent them there as sleeper agents.

At the climax of season three, S03E22: The Red Dinnerparty, Pixies is hosting an important gala dinner for the Council, when the trigger word is sent. Immediately, all the meals are laced with strychnine, and there ensues a horrible and memorable scene where Francis, regaining some control due to his love for Chelsea, knocks the plate from her hand and saves her from death. Tragically, his hand, which falls into the spilled food, is cut on the sharp pottery and when he instinctively licks the blood, he tastes the food and falls prey to his own murder weapon, dying on the spot. Chelsea is aghast, and tries to commit suicide, but Urban and Janszoon, as well as the dying Loathsome Pete, entreat her to live, for the boy. Urban, Janszoon, Vanilla and a few other survive the massacre, but much of the Council is wiped out.

Perhaps ironically, a statue is built in the town square in PortiRoci, proclaiming the family as brave freedom fighters, who gave their lives to destroy the inner circle of the hated enemy.

(Editor's note: The actor who portrayed Black Francis says he is still persona non grata in every restaurant in the country, and has had to resort to eating in, every single night. "People still boo me when I walk down the street", he sighs. "You'd think this stuff was real. For some people, I guess it is." Chelsea still receives notes of support, sympathy and marriage offers on a regular basis. She has since deleted her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.)
