There's a certain section of the music nerd-sphere that embrace pop tunes, ironically or not. So even her (and other artists) most famous and "iffy" songs have a place in the community.
However, I don't think this album cones under that bracket. It's not cheesy teeny pop post-post-irony, it's just pop music. Well structured, written, produced and performed. The fact it was released by Carly undoubtedly enhances it's appeal to some (including myself) but those who disliked her earlier work could easily enjoy it.
