I can install programs onto the computers in the community college library computers in my town, otherwise I have an audacity file on my phone so I can use that too even if there's network restrictions.

Also, just gonna copy this from an email I sent

Quote:
Yes, audacity is a huge component, I use it for editing as well some
composition here and there. These albums here are my most "avant
garde" if you will, and are based around manipulated field recordings
in audacity: https://troublesalad.bandcamp.com/album/delirium ,
https://troublesalad.bandcamp.com/al...ust-the-sequel ,
https://troublesalad.bandcamp.com/al...the-soundtrack . Some
Trouble Salad tracks are paulstretched original sounds. This album is
based almost entirely around chopped and screwed samples in audacity:

For those first six Trouble Salad releases and the new "Battle of
Worlds Has Ended", I used audiomulch to improvise the substance of the
album. It doesn't have too much so the sound was a tad limited, but
you can record live while messing around with the patches.
AudioMulch is software for live performance, audio processing, sound design and music composition.

That was only a free trial though and after it ended I searched for
any free programs to use. Been using linux multimedia studio ever
since and started actually composing material as the improv factor was
gone. It's free and pretty easy to grasp, as long as I have samples
and effects I can rock it. When I had my laptop I downloaded some free
VSTs to use, but the computer busted. These were my first albums made
with LMMS, and you could probably tell that I hadn't branched out very
far just yet: https://troublesalad.bandcamp.com/al...all-monsters-2
, https://wearethewasps.bandcamp.com/releases . Although "Beneath the
Red Sea" on the latter album is actually a recording I made with a
soda cup filled with various volumes of water, a rubber band and a
straw.

In my opinion, this album was where I first felt I had the program
down well enough and started to concrete my style.
