Your question revolves around ownership, but you say you're only going to use it to recruit band members off Craigslist. These are two different dynamics, but both still violate copyright. If you're only using it to recruit band members off Craigslist, then it shouldn't matter even if they did lay claim to the song(s) you created, because you never expected to own the work in the first place.
You could always write the rightsholders -- which involves a lot of minutia -- to see if they will give you permission for the specific use that you intend.
