Colors is definitely my favorite BTBAM release too, though 'Selkies' off of Alaska is still arguably the best thing they've ever written and recorded.
Anyhoo...
Adrian Belew - Lone Rhino (1982)
Beginning my descent into the weirdness of everyone's favorite David Byrne stand-in. His collaborations with both King Crimson and David Bowie are pretty legendary at this point, but this album was an amazing debut. Just the guitar work on opening cut 'Big Electric Cat' is worth the price of admission IMO.
Sanguine Hum - Now We Have Light (2015)
Acoustic-oriented
Coheed & Cambria diving headlong into
Frank Zappa / Caravan / Camel / Gong territory. Could this be the modern Canterbury Scene I've always hoped for? Very promising band!
