Slaughter in the Vatican (1990)
Been on a minor, brutal thrash metal kick recently. I love me some death thrash. Generally it's not the try-hard prog thrash that kicked the thrash bucket back in the late-eighties/early-nineties, so it has an immediacy that many of their more melodic brethren sadly lacked. As someone raised on thrash, it also appeals to me more than death metal as well, so it's one of my fav forms of extreme metal. Thrash's last gasp of greatness.
Epidemic of Violence and Slaughter in the Vatican are two of my all-time favs, along with Morbid Saint's
Spectrum of Death, Anacrusis's
Suffering Hour, and Devastation's
Idolatry. Gotta throw Protector in there to a somewhat lesser degree.
