I dont know about "greatest".

I've been playing guitar since the 70s and I guess I just got tired of the shredding.
Some of this stuff is about as musical sounding as a dishwasher.

They all bore me, Malmsteen, Morse, Vai... I cant explain it. I should be thrilled with these guys, but I'm not.

So Buckethead falls into the same category with them. Unbelievably skilled but honestly, I'd rather listen to somebody who plays more slowly, with more melody.

Blackmore is the only real shredder I like anymore, and, even he gets tiresome... I was watching the Deep Purple DVD Come Hell or High Water, and its the same thing on every song - Blackmore playing so fast you cant even tell wtf he's doing, it sounds like a bee buzzing in the background.

There is no "greatest" in my opinion.... its al about what each person likes, and thats always gonna be different.
