Sigh..... The first time you watch it you are engrossed in where it's going. What's going to happen next. How's it all going to play out in the end. Knowing all of that in advance let's you focus more on the periphery and the finer points and nuances of the movie.

It's the same with great books for me. First time I read Hyperion I raced through it just to find out where the story was going to end up. Subsequent reads were much more slowed down and focused on the brilliant prose and scope of the story itself.

A great movie example for me would be Nolan's Memento. Your brain is so twisted the first time you see it it's impossible to fully appreciate all of the artistry of the movie full on.

Same can be said for mind blowing albums.
