That's interesting, I have a couple of buddies in the same boat, they've finished the TV series but haven't seen the original movie. I urged both of them to watch it but after hearing your thoughts on it I won't be surprised if they feel the same way, I enjoyed the TV series more than the movie as well. However, while I love both seasons, I'm a sucker for season 2. Late 70's cars and music, crime families, and small town conspiracies are my Kryptonite. I felt that both seasons were superbly written, for me final preference just came down to setting and atmosphere.
