Be sure to make raised beds for vegetables (you can used recycled materials to lower cost)... Annuals (except for native wild flowers perhaps) tend to do better in a well-composted raised bed. You're so lucky about your local resources! We live in the South where most farms are still using the monocropping method, so we are going this journey alone.
