Sounds like you need some Stan Brakhage. Very abstract, buthe excellent. A lot of people cite Dog Star Man as his masterpiece, but imo his best is The Act of Seeing With One's Own Eyes -- a film that consists entirely of graphic 16mm footage of autopsies. It's hard to watch, but definitely something that will remain with you forever, for better or worse.

From there, I'd hit Luis Bunuel's Un Chain Andalou, which is really bizarre also but excellent. Plus, if you like surrealism, Bunuel's later films are a goldmine.

Edit: Oh, and also, for that sort of high-contrast grainy cinematography, Aronofsky'so Pi is grade-a, plus it's got that guy from Breaking Bad:
