Glad to inspire ideas! I'm trying to figure out what these things are called - it's a birch wood frame with an aluminum rectangular cavity with rubber or wax seal lining to prevent leaking, and there is a small round hole in the center, presumably for a drain.
I imagine the thing is supposed to be filled with ice to keep beer cool? Anyone know what these are called?
EDIT: Some quick Googling suggests it's called a wood cooler or a wood ice chest. And the things aren't actually cheap. Building yourself is always the cheapest solution, or if you'd rather buy one ready to go, the favorite is the
