Egypt is the pariah of the Arab world, but they have plenty to contribute too.
For example, multi-percussionist, Hossam Ramzy. He's famous enough to attract lots of good musicians to play with him, and tbh I prefer the music when HR takes a break from his incessant percussion - rather like saying that Clapton is ok, apart from all that guitar playing:-
