when i went to paris, i asked for a zaatar croissant at one cafe ok because in lebanon we put zaatar in our croissants and they looked at me like i was a madman. i'll never forget how oppressed and humiliated i felt by them not acknowledging my zaatar and my zaatars right to exist inside of a croissant.
