As for Britain, they've lost the all-important economic bridge between Europe and the rest of the world and I don't see how they aren't appreciating the glaring detail of losing their role as a major international financial center. Russia also now has a greater tilt over the European world, without Britain having a foothold.

^ Yes, Brexit is opening a can of worms for other countries too, especially the EU ones. Yes, international investors will probably avoid investing in Britain for some time, but I don't see us "losing their role as an international financial center."
After all, international finance whizzes round the world between 3 major centers; New York, London, Tokyo. Why should that change?
