I'm thinking technicality when I say virtuoso. He definitely had a mad unique approach that changed the way people played, but technically speaking it's not too difficult to pull off (though he did use like a 4 or 5 reed, which is crazy to me because I can only play a 3.5 on a good day with my tenor, so there's that).
