Yes, but the problem with more stringent gun laws is this, just because it worked in one one country doesn't mean it's going to work in another one. Britain is a small country, with less people. They don't need the police carrying weapons because they don't have the crime rate the US has. It's a bit of an unfair comparison. Plus, not to mention, avid hunters wouldn't be able to hunt and we'd take away they're right too. No, more stringent gun laws ends up just taking guns away from law-abiding citizens while crime rates go up.
