I've just scored a wonderful piece of hacker culture history. As many of you may recall, this famous whistle was packaged in boxes of Cap'n Crunch cereal in 1971.
The whistle emitted a tone at precisely 2600 hertz and could be used to make free long distance phone calls. (Remember, this was back when long distance calls were expensive.) These whistles have at times commanded over a hundred dollars on eBay but I picked this one up for a very reasonable price. It will make a wild necklace to sport my maker-culture pride!
