Why introduce words that are synonymous in a colloquial
setting and say they are not - as if we were talking about
something like the use of Baire's Theorem in the study of
wave dispersion in a gyrating nanotube. Why pair "consistently"
and "precise" as if they were synonymous when they are
not, while informing us of his mastery of language. For years,
I've had conversations about all kinds of word usage - usually
stimulating, fun and interesting ones - especially after I became
a member of the International Society of General Semantics
decades ago, but they've never been as empty as this one.
