I kind of agree, as that's the era I grew up in. But I think that says more about human psychology than style of music. In any genre of music people will claim that the 'Golden Age' is some time between their teens and late 20s. There are kids today who think Kendrik Lamar is the ****, and in 20 years time will lament that the scene no longer has anything sounding like that. Last week I did a gig and an octogenarian came up and asked why I didn't do tunes people could relate to, like "Oh When the Saints".
