Yes the NYC was definitely a more hardcore inspired scene with all the crossover thrash bands like Carnivore, the Crumbsuckers and metal inspired hardcore like the Cro mags, while bands like Testament seem much more Diamond Head inspired.

I just happen to be revisiting thrash metal at the moment so I'll give the album a whirl, thanks.
