You should read it. "Children's book" is a pretty inaccurate term. Not to say it's violent, just too complex for the average kid. I know people who were bored by it as kids, but I love the novel.

Understood. I just have to make time for it. My
To Read list is about 125 books at present, and I've just picked up all of Charlie Brooker's series which will take some time to get through. But yes, Tolkien is definitely on my list.
