That probably accounts for a good 80-90% of why I like how it sounds, but I still fell like there's just something about the aesthetic of the album that I really get. It sounds much more somber and melancholy than any other metal album of its time. It was also the first album ever that made me pay attention to what the bass drums were doing (they stand out a lot if you compare to other thrash metal projects of the time).
