That's ridiculous though. Palmer is extremely loose--that's one of the main features of his playing, that his time, on a fine-grained level, is so loose. And part of that is that when he'd play a shuffle, for example, it would often sound halfway between straight 8s and a shuffle, where it would kind of bounce back and forth between the two.
I'd be frightened to hear people saying things like this play, because they're not parsing what they're hearing very well.
