Those "shreds" videos are hilarious. I hadn't noticed before that when the guy is doing Paul Stanley's voice he sounds kind of like Adam Sandler. It would be hilarious if Sandler was really behind those (Sandler can play a number of instruments).
Anyway, I'm a big KISS fan, so . . .
Aside from that, like I said, I enjoyed some of the Half Japanese I was hearing. I just haven't liked the Jad Fair I've heard that was more conventional, because it was just kinda boring songwriting (in terms of chord progressions, melodies, arrangments, etc.), only with kind of unpolished playing and singing that I found annoying. The more outside stuff I kind of dig though, and I'm a big Sonic Youth fan.
