I agree that the Beatles were definitely a cut above the Stones. I don't know if I'd compare AC/DC to the Stones, though.

People can say what they will about AC/DC, but at least they never sold out. They started out playing hard rock in the seventies, and they're still playing hard rock. The Stones sold out after the early seventies, recording a lot of lightweight pop crap.

AC/DC hasn't done much of interest since the eighties, but they never stooped to recording pop tunes.
