It seems strange how these noble, yet naive, people find this "voting" to actually affect change. Do they not understand that their two political parties prevent public opinion from influencing actual legislation?
In my notes, I liken this peculiar behavior to that of a long lost civilization sacrificing people in hopes of making the weather change. I assume this false hope allows them to continue to live with the poor living and working conditions within their society, functioning as a form of escapism — similar to religion.

I get this ideal but the fact of the matter is when you go to vote. There is more on the ballet than the presidential nominees depending on where you are from. People that spout this sentiment clearly show that they lack voting experience. State and local office seats have a greater effect on you than you realize.
