Yes of course, as I stated, the pressure of being forced to reopen an investigation led to a bad decision, but it has nothing to do with him being a Republican. He may fear the fallout from congress, but his motivations are not out of personal desire to protect future ambitions as a possible Republican candidate.
You however are missing the point, which is Hillary brought this on herself, there would be no investigation had she not of broken the rules in regards to national security, and now she must accept the consequences of being probed by the FBI in a criminal investigation.
If she is found innocent, she will cleared of any wrongdoing unless new evidence arises. Then we will go through the process again.
