I'm just as worried about what this says about 50% of the American people as I am about the political ramifications. I'm worried that those 50% see this as validation for hateful treatment of others, for discrimination, prejudice, and violence. After Brexit there was a spike in hate crimes, and I expect to see the same in the coming months.
I'm shell-shocked that 50% of America openly said "Yes, this spiteful, hateful, violent, impulsive man speaks for me" last night.
