It's still the most powerful country on the planet, but whereas, back in the day, people like F.D. Roosevelt won international respect in his own right, Trump will be seen on the world stage as a toxic bully. The German press have already labelled him "The Horror Clown" and in France a leading politician said, "He makes me want to retch."
I wonder why 46.9% of voters were so indifferent ? Now the once-proud nation of Roosevelt will be represented by a figure who is an object of contempt, loathing or ridicule across the globe.
