Over the last two hours, Bernie Sanders shared Kevin Gilbertt's video live by the blockade on 1804 by Oceti Sakowin to social media, insisting that
"President Obama must take all appropriate measures to protect the safety of the Native Americans protesters and their supporters who have gathered peacefully to oppose construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline."
The footage is choppy but the key communication is this:
Militarized police are firing noise cannons, concussion grenades, mace, rubber bullets, water cannons, and tear gas on peaceful protestors. The water protectors are in an enclosed space on the 1804 bridge over the river, so the crowd must either inhale the tear gas or trample each other in retreat. The police have blocked off emergency vehicle access to the water defenders. With temps at 0 celsius, the water cannons may cause hypothermia.
Here is the video on FB, not yet available on YT.
