Okay, so the aliens came to that specific time just to give Louise the language so that they can further communicate with them in the future when they actually need our assistance. I got that part. Are they relying on the human race to have advanced technology by then to actually assist them? Why did they pick this specific point in time when they only need us 3000 years from now? What was so significant about this period in time?

I understand why her husband was mad at her. If you already know that you are going to have a daughter and she's just going to die then why bother? I guess she just wants to live in the moment and experience the joys of parenting blah blah blah. I would be pissed at her too if I knew that she knew she was bringing a life in this world that would be taken out early just to cause more pain. It would have made sense if the daughter was special in some sort of way that ended up advancing technology.

I also don't think just by us knowing the language we automatically unlock the human conscious and other humans are able to see their past/future selves in their own timeline. The only reason it happened for Louise was because of the last time she went into the ship. It is kind of strange that she was having visions before they did what they did with her.
