The perfect horror movie. Family holes up in a snowed in hotel that's haunted by its past inhabitants and they deal with that and writer's block until Johnny shows up. Insanely meticulous layers upon layers of depth, as is to be expected from Kubrick.

The Babadook

The perfect horror movie atmosphere. After finding a children's book on her son's bookshelf, a widow and her unruly son are visited by a mysterious, dark being. One of the best movies that makes you question if it's a psychological or supernatural film, and my particular interpretation of it is pretty damn moving.
