I trolled a bit in a discussion last year saying the
Boredoms had never done a City Pop record despite the genre being a keystone in the musical landscape of Japan in the 80's and early 90's. These guys seem to have turned that comment of mine into reality: this is some great beach-oriented jazzy pop stuff that'd gel well with the Boredoms or maybe even
Can at their smoothest. Trying to sell MB on the greatness of guys like Tatsuro Yamas
hita or Toshiki Kadomatsu might be futile, but this band showcases the appeal.

Hardcore / metalcore done very right. They've been listening to a lot of
Deftones and
Alice In Chains in their downtime too, which makes this a bit of a grunge crossover too I suppose.
