I ordered a custom Ron Thorn guitar which was gonna take 18 months to get finished. This one:

Mike and I drove up to his LA shop, and picked out the wood blanks for the body and neck and then had lunch with the guy. Very cool experience.

So I decided to try and build a solid body electric guitar to pass the time.

The first one came out pretty rough but was totally playable. I'll never forget Linda coming downstairs while I was jamming on it and saying "I truly did marry a madman".

The second one was a misstep. I overreached.

The third one came out so good my boss at the time bought it at cost, and still plays it all the time.
