Zach Hill - FACE TAT

Okay so I am listening to the album now. I'll start by saying that I don't dislike the album. It's perfectly decent, with a lot to like about it. But I feel that it lacks soul. When you're listening to abrasive noisy music (or music that intends to be) there needs to be a point behind it. You have to feel that there's purpose behind the madness. Whereas this album almost feels like the equivalent of some random dude playing cover versions of Delta Blues tracks with cosy production, or listening to a Joe Satriani solo. I don't feel anything listening to this album. It's just song after song of slightly different hodgepodges of scattered noise.

it's a worthwhile listen, but not something I will remember in a few years. 5/10
