Oh, well yes this is definitely true of the skittish ones at least-- all the black cats I've met have been mischievous, skittish buttheads but I love them anyway. Calicos too.
I shared that on FB like a week ago.

My black cat is pretty chill. He will whine every now and then but I just have to call his name and snap my fingers and he will come to me to get pet. I have my cats trained pretty well for the most part. I don't have to yell at them if I catch them on the table. Just a snap of my fingers and point down and they know to get off the table.
