It's hard to train cats, but if they want to do something and coincidentally you want them to do it too, then cool. I only have to rattle their bowls on Wednesdays and Fridays, fish nights, and they're all there waiting. When I'm reading for Karen I pat the armchair beside me, say "Eddie! Story time!" and he'll appear, charging down the stairs or in from the hall, to settle beside me, nuzzle his head off my knee, and sit there listening to me read. And if I sit any other time, it's open season as they all three come looking to be petted.
