I never said Masayuki was popular in the slightest. I said he changed the guitar world. Even though his impact is undeniable, he is not iconic. Jeff Beck is similar in that aspect*.
*this does not mean that they have identical sales figures, cultures surrounding them, or other things. Only that they are impactful but not overwhelmingly popular**.
